From my observation, I can only say a troubled child SOMETIMES becomes a troubled adult. Genes can cause the troubling: I know one child who was born with mental problems and as an adult was diagnosed as schizophrenic. But if it's environment that causes the child to be troubled and the environment improves, there should be hope for the adult.(less)
