Does anybody know what happened to him? I have to make this a 2-part question because I can’t put the background in the space allowed. As I understand it, Peter Clement was a doctor in a Toronto hospital. This book came out shortly after the SARS outbreak there. I know a lot of medical professionals were affected and some died.

I wonder if this book feels different to you because his writing got more polished as time went on? I started with this book and loved it. Now I'm reading Book 1 in this series and while still good, it feels like an earlier effort. Peter Clement is a new author for me but I love his writing, and I sure wish he'd return to it!(less)
