Nothing too overt, but there are several LGBTQ+ people in the book. I'm a little fuzzy on the details of possible relationships (that's not a central part of the story anyway), but several of the minor characters go by they/them pronouns, and I remember one scene that shows the protagonist being quizzed about gender and pronouns in order to be able to address him in the correct way. As the worldbuilding goes, queer existences are completely normalized and accepted; as a queer person myself I found it super validating. Hope this helps! (less)
