I am wondering how did John Grisham feel he could get inside the head of a young South Sudanese boy. How did he learn about the war in the South Sudan? Does he know someone from South Sudan personally? I am reading this alternately with reading about the war in Ukraine and it is making the story more poignant for me to be thinking about the effects of war on people. I am not very far so far. About at page 140.
