KP Hi! USED is a standalone romantic suspense with an HEA and it does NOT end on a cliffhanger.

Hello!
Laurie Halse Anderson and Lois Lowry are two of my favorite authors. I love how they take hard topics and aren’t afraid to fully take their readers into that topic and through the experience. But even while doing that, they offer moments of light and joy showing how life is not either-or, but it exists with this AND that. I tend to look for those stories as I read, and I’m drawn to that in my own writing. Joy and pain, love and heartache, mountains and valleys all go hand-in-hand in life. One thing I never experienced in my reading was a story of sibling abuse. I never got to see me on the page. And while Sabra’s story goes much farther than my own story does, I found it important to tell that story because there are people out there who need to see themselves on the page. But also, there are others out there that need to know that it exists and walk in someone else’s shoes. As I delved deeper into Sabra’s story, I had to face bits and pieces of my own, and I realized I was receiving a gift of my own as well—freedom. One thing I’ve learned is that when you experience freedom, you want to share that with others and help them find it too. USED is a story of heartache and hurts mixed with joy and love. We see Sabra’s journey to finding freedom, and it’s packed full of twists, turns, and what I hope readers find to be a gripping romance. Will it leave them emotionally spent? I hope so, but in the best possible way and with an HEA we all yearn for. (less)

The model on the cover (Cameo Hopper) is who I imagined as Sabra where looks are concerned from early on in the writing process. And for Trevor, I always had a mix of the baseball players Kris Bryant and Bryce Harper in my head. (less)
