He just got himself into this bizarre conversation with his daughter where he thought he was being all encouraging and empowering -- yes, you can be ANYTHING you want to be -- and then she wanted to be a toilet and he had to make a split second decision whether or not to crush her dreams. No one can cause trouble like a child, bless their little socks.(less)

I'm about 1/3 of the way through this book and while I'm enjoying it, the fact that it's written from the omniscient point of view, where you know everyone's thoughts is a little odd. Did that bother anyone else? Or just me because I'm a writer. Abbi Waxman is hysterical, so that helps.
