As Jeremy (above) mentioned, the Revenger series is the only series from Al so far that is young adult-focused — though, to be honest, I cannot imagine my young adult children reading such a heavy and extremely content mature series 👀 So, I'm personally a bit skeptical of that YA categorization (unless it is aimed towards the far older end of the YA age range).(less)

However, it does not include any of the characters from the other books like the first "three" did.

Long answer: This takes places hundreds (year ~2600, I believe) of years after the final book in the Revelation Space series. In the preface, Al specifies that you can read this book as a stand-alone (akin to "House of Suns" or [arguably] "Chasm City", for instance, which takes place in the Revelation Space universe but isn't dependent on the core Revelation Space series plotline or characters). He also provides a summary of the universe in the preface, with a complete summarization of the universe and series timeline aft of the book (which includes huge spoilers for all of the books, including this one).(less)
