I'm about a third in and I am so unbelievably bored. Does it pick up? I feel like the author just drones on and on and I don't really give a crap about anybody in the book yet.

An observation that I haven't observed anywhere else is the use of Pirsig as the street name for the family home. My thought is it is an homage to the author of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and the obvious mentally ill son who gets electroshock therapy connections as well as the concept of labor as cure. Any seconds or thoughts?
