I gotta ask... Is this a YA book or a adult book? I'm in between YA and adult book. I'd like to read more adult books, but in the fantasy genre, it can be hard to spot out the fantasy books for adults....

I am by no means an expert in the subtle differences in the definitions of genres. I think one could argue it is a young adult since the main character in the book is a young adult. That said it does not contaim the elememts of young adult books that often annoy me personally. Firstly the book was well written (I find the quality of English used in most YA’s is poor). Secondly the story is not centered on YA issues (such as identity crisis, petty squabbles with friends, etc). For these reasons I would not necessarily call it a true YA, and as someone who is getting increasingly annoyed with YA books I thought the Stolen Songbird was an exceedingly pleasant read.
