She's struggling with the idea of being in love with someone who won't love her back, and debating telling her anyway. She also forms a connection with her dads ex-girlfriend and in the process gets to explore her sexuality and courage more than she ever has in the past. I loved the representation, it takes a bit of a backseat to the turmoil of her life but it's always there, mainly in the love she has for her friend.(less)
