There's alcohol use in this and some fade to black sex scenes. The protagonist is a woman in her mid 20's, so I think it would be more appropriate for 15+? Or at least more relatable for that age category. It also depends on your state, there are some queer characters in this books so your school might prohibit that content all together. Something maybe more geared towards 7th graders is 'Amari and the Night Brothers' by B.B. Alston. A middle grade urban fantasy about a magical training camp our protagonist attends. I read it a couple moths ago and it was really good!(less)
