The themes are more geared to older teenagers in my opinion, but I can see a 12 year old really enjoying this too.(less)

Christina I thought of "Bend it Like Beckham" when I first read the premise of the book. Now that I've read Furia, I'd say... Yes and no. There are similarities…moreI thought of "Bend it Like Beckham" when I first read the premise of the book. Now that I've read Furia, I'd say... Yes and no. There are similarities, since they both revolve around soccer-playing female protagonists who come from homes that support that. I don't want to give anything away but will say that I enjoyed the book (and I also enjoyed "Bend it Like Beckham").(less)
