One of the greatest biographies of a poet whose work should be more read these days. Zenith encompasses the life, this history of Portugal, and the writing and artistic community in which he developed. I would urge anyone who does not know Pessoa, to begin with 'The Book of Disquiet,' as an introduction to his work and mind. For a poet who left only a few extant works, each one of them deserves attention, and Richard Zenith has given us the ne plus ultra biography to help anyone know Pessoa. I do not think any other new biography can be written after this extraordinary volume. (less)
