I thought it was decent. The title misgenders him but the rest of the book is pretty good about the whole thing. This is what I wrote in my review:

Now, let's get to the trans representation in this book. To be honest, it was pretty good. I'm going to try to avoid making assumptions about the author's identity, but I will say that it felt like it was written from the outside looking in. Basically, it's what someone would observe/interpret a trans person's thoughts/feelings to be if they were observing them/learning about them, not exactly how a trans person would write/describe those feelings. That being said, this isn't an in-depth exploration of what it is to be trans, and that is only a part of the book plus, the observations made were accurate. This is some of the better trans representation I've read and it felt well-researched. My only significant issue with the representation was that masculinity was associated too easily with being male. Keyne needed to be taller/more muscular or whatever to prove he was male, which just didn't really sit right with me. This might not have been the author's intention but it could come off that way sometimes. Also the fact that the book seemed to take an "I am really male therefore I should take on these roles" attitude as opposed to an "I don't think these roles should be gendered" attitude was a bit odd, although there was some questioning of the gender roles of the society. I would also like to end this paragraph by reiterating my belief that this was pretty solid trans representation (as a trans guy myself).
