Are there any real-life people from history in this book? Is it historically accurate?

(He will grow to play a much bigger ro…moreHi Jennifer, apologies just seen you question. Yes some of the characters are real, Tribune Maximianus for one. (He will grow to play a much bigger role in books 2 and 3. Also Legate Candidus, King Balmoar and a couple other of the Germanic chiefs (although not much is known about them) Alexander of Abonotheichos was also real, although I’m sure he had no desire to be Emperor!
As to historical accuracy, we really don’t have much to go when it comes an exact timeline of the Marcommanic wars, which is great for an author as I have lots of opportunities to be creative! We know the war began with a raid on Roman territory in the winter of AD 166/67, and fragments of certain battles fought over the next few years (again, will all be in the next books)(less)
