If I remember correctly, Clem wears a Nirvana t-shirt in one scene so I was assuming 90s but I don't know how that fits with Mellie's death.(less)

Also currently the three versions are the hardcover, ebook, and kindle version which is why it's showing three editions. I hope that makes sense!(less)

However, I was able to handle to body horror in this. Most of the real tension comes from the spookiness and dread rather than gore.

I just finished it, and quite enjoyed it. I'll try to answer to the best of my memory (I stayed up WAY too late reading because I couldn't put it down.)

Most of the references are about neighbors having lost their pets if they were left outside, presumably dragged off by wild coyotes. There is one scene where a one of the unfortunate pets is found dead; it's brief but you'd probably want to skip that.

In the one scene that vividly deals with a dead animal, it's a wild animal, we don't see it die, we don't know how or why it died. It's heartbreaking and creepy, and we know that it's image is <spoiler>being used as a hallucination to terrorize and warn the girl who sees it.</spoiler>

I hope that this helps. Happy reading! (less)
