There isn't anything gory or graphic or even implied, really beyond him needing to ~procure certain animals (although we don't know for what explicit purpose).(less)

She leaves with the hybrids. "Ramona wept and Carlota wept, too. But there was no tearful goodbye, between Lupe and the girl."

In the previous chapter, Montgomery says with luck Ramona can arrange for passage through Mayan territory since she had let them take supplies from the farm on previous occasions. We know most of the hybrids went ahead into rebel territory, so Ramona is with them.

We don't know if Montgomery will ever find them, but that's his plan at the end of the book.(less)
