Melda (Social) Isolation, wealth, fatherhood, Christianity, elements of the Industrial Revolution.

How would you pronounce the name of the town? Rave-loe with the stress on the first syllable with a strong 'a', or Ra-vel-oe with also a stress on the first syllable but with a soft 'a'. Any discussion on the matter would be most welcome.

We looked at this book in English class, It looked so good, the majority of my class wouldn't be seen dead reading :( but they begged my teacher to find a summary so they could hear what happened for the rest of the story :) I was very happy and the book looked even better than I thought. Shall I still read it even though I know all the spoilers???!!!
