You can read this as a standalone book but it does follow on from another shorter read called 'Christmas at Carly's Cupcakes'. The owner of Carly's Cupcakes and the owner of The Chocolate Pot are friends with businesses next door to each other. Both books are told from the point of view of one person so Carly's Cupcakes is Carly's story and Starry Skies is Tara's story but Tara's story picks up where Carly's leaves off and we get to find out what happens to Carly in Starry Skies. If you only read Starry Skies, it will make sense but you would get spoilers for Carly's Cupcakes if you then wanted to go back and read that one.

I know of plenty of readers who've read them the other way round and have enjoyed them that way but my advice would be Carly first then Starry Skies.

Best wishes
