It's not a trilogy, in fact. The Heart of Princess Osra (supposedly book 1 in the trilogy) is not connected to The Prisoner of Zenda, apart from being set in Ruritania more than a century earlier. So, by all means, forget about The Heart of Princess Osra and read The Prisoner of Zenda.(less)

Does anyone know what this expression means, when the innkeeper's daughter says, "God send the kitchen door be shut"? It's at the end of chapter 2, and the context doesn't help me. This form doesn't give me enough space to paste the entire exchange.

I think an older child (14 and up) who was fairly well-read and had a good command of written English would enjoy it. Since it was published in 1894, the style of English and much of the content will not be familiar to an American teen unless the reader is already accustomed to reading British literature from this period (e.g. Sherlock Holmes).(less)
