In the translator’s notes at t…moreAlthough I believe this book is for anyone, it was written for children. The main characters are in junior high school. In the translator’s notes at the end, it is mentioned that the author was tasked to develop a textbook for children, and the project warped into this novel. After reading the book, I can see how this is true! There are many references and side stories about historical events, and this book is quite a history lesson. That being said, the history is interwoven into the story and is relevant to the characters’ situations. (less)
