Kids have to deal with other children their age that they may not get along with today as much as back then. That is part of the point of the AG series, to show kids that while some things have changed in the long years since Addy would have lived, some themes in life are still the same, such as a girl who mistreats you. Addy learns to stand up for herself and her true friend without being rude or mean back to Harriet. It is a good lesson for readers today.(less)
