Now with 200ish pages to go I am absolutely loving the book and looking forward to reading more about the real history as well as additional Mario Llosa works.(less)

Juan In Spanish it says that they slit the throat of the Little Blessed One right there, in the Sanctuary, "mientras el artista-fotógrafo tomaba la foto". …moreIn Spanish it says that they slit the throat of the Little Blessed One right there, in the Sanctuary, "mientras el artista-fotógrafo tomaba la foto". In Spanish that can mean both, that he took a photograph of the Little Blessed One or that he kept taking the photograph he was previously asked to take of the Counselor while they killed the Little Blessed One right there, in the same room.
I believe "while the artist-photograph Flavio de Barros took THE photograph" would have been a more faithful translation that "while the artist-photograph Flavio de Barros took A photograph". The photograph might not exist, it might have been that the translator got confused.(less)
