What was the point of adding all the sexual scenes in this novel? Was I the only one that thought it was out of left field and totally unnecessary for the overall plot of the novel? Especially the scene where she is giving the engaged guy a lap dance... Just felt unnecessary for a novel that's main character was in middle school.

So far, this book has just been about sexual things done to preteen girls and things they participate in. Is the whole book just a litany of these things or does it have any redeeming qualities? Am debating whether to continue reading or put it down...

I just finished the book and can only think of two moments about such experiences. If you are not comfortable with this type of book, you may want to screen for 'coming of age' in book descriptions.
