I read this one book called "To Be Honest" by Maggie Ann Martin, and it reminds me a lot of Fat Chance, Charlie Vega. It is a similar situation; the main character, Savvy is confident in her size and her beauty, but her own mom and society has other ideas, so she sort of just gets through it in the entirety of the whole book. She and her mom were also once similar sizes, up until her mom began losing weight in spite of another family issue that is revealed (I just don't want to spoil it in case you decide to read it :) To Be Honest has more features of the relationship struggle with her mom than I think Charlie Vega has, however they're both super cute and really great stories in their own ways. But if you wanted a book similar with other attributes, I definitely recommend To Be Honest. (less)
