I'm @chapter 3 & Cecily just did something not very believable. Is this going to keep happening? Love Interest takes her number, doesn't call for a week. Then he shows up outside her place, sees her and says "I was starting to think you weren't real". Instead of asking why he didn't just call, or at least thinking it, she says "me too" & sees no red flags. This seems absurd. Is the whole book like this?

I love everything EG writes but this one was just ok. I love how she always ties in characters from previous books. this seems to take place before Something Borrowed, did anyone else notice if Cecily, Grant or Scottie were mentioned in other EG novels?

Does the Goodreads community think the author of THE BLACK KIDS was being disrespectful (of King and others hurt during the riots) when she set her novel during the Rodney King beating, trial, and riots? Were writers like Ernest Hemingway and Joseph Heller disrespectful when they set their novels during wars? How about the shows “MASH” and “HOGAN’S HEROES,” also set during wars?

Did Emily Giffin steal her storyline from the movie "Just Between Friends?" Plot matches down to some of the details (Mistress of dead cheater truly befriends the wife, then,turns up pregnant; and both stories have main characters who teach the latest exercise craze--in the movie it was basically Jane Fonda, and here it is yoga. Haven't finished the book yet. Just wondering.
