Genuine and honest question: I absolutely loved these books when I found them years ago and got invested all the way through the hardest parts of the series, but I have a feeling that Ward hasn't really been delivering for a while. I stopped after book 12 years ago (just drifted apart from romance). So, honestly: Is it worth it? Should I keep going forward? Even with the bad, is it generally worth it? Please!

Yes and no. The books are MUCH worse than they used to be, I'd say at least HALF the quality. With that being said, it's still better than most new adult fantasy books out there. I read 15-20 books this year and this one was still one of the best ones, even not being nearly as good as the previous BDB series.(less)
