I'd suggest finding a local locksmith kind enough to coach you a bit on installing a good mechanical lock like the S&G 6730. They come with good instructions. In some of the other texts similar to those you may have already seen you might want to look at discussion of various types of bolt work and handles you need to build. That's what actually secures the safe. The lock itself simply keeps the handle and bolts from turning.(less)
