I read it in school as a 16-year-old [50 years ago], saw the Liam Neeson movie twice, read it again today. I believe "Ethan Frome" is wasted on teen-agers; they don't have the life experiences to empathize with his plight, to "get" his stark and depressing life. Better suited for adults with a few life challenges in their resumes.(less)
