The sub-title is "Essays on Native American Life Today" so it's about the lives lived by present-day Indians. There are some passing references to the old stories and what they mean to the culture, but I don't think there are any references to "speaking with wolves and/or coyotes" although there may be a few where antelope and rabbits speak. Anyway, that's not what the book's about. (less)
