Is the romance between the written any better than their first book, because that was the WORST. JR Ward had no idea how to write m/m sex scenes and it came off like she was embarrassed to write it. the series has been downhill for a while now, but these two were my favourite couple and I'd read it if its decent but if she just bulldozes them again, forget it. is it worth it?

However, I did feel like the sex scenes in this book were better representative of it. Also, you have to remember, these are vamps who can literally ejaculate over and over again and have sex for hours so their sex scenes are not going to be normal to begin with. I'm not sure why people find it insulting. Ward fought her publisher to write Lover at Last. At one point she told them she was writing it and she would self-publish if she had to. This is not an author who wrote a M/M book for the sake of doing it, she honestly wanted it to be a part of the BDB world.(less)

Anyone know if the events in this book take place after 'The Sinner'? That book took place in March so just curious if this is the Christmas season after that... or if it is basically running parallel to Trez's Christmas book? I don't know why but not knowing the timeline bothered me while reading this lol She just usually doesn't jump so far in the future between books.
