I've only read one book by Borges, and that was years ago. Will I be able to get enough out of this book to make reading it worthwhile?

How could Jay Parini not have known about Borges in 1971? I can remember being turned on to all of Borges' works by an artistic boyfriend in 1970 when I was a Sophomore in high school. He WAS popular. Ditto Gabriel Garcia Marquez. That said, this book rekindles the initial surprise and delight of Borges, his thoughts, his ruminations. A transformative author. Skip the first 60 pages and start when Borges enters.
