Check history for: The Holocaust; Ukrainian Famine; Gulags; the Cultural Revolution of China; Khmer Rouge; etc etc etc
Do some research on these and I think you will find collectivism and centralized power are the most dangerous ideas humanity has produced; not Capitalism.(less)

Friedman, like George Orwell and Bertrand Russell, writes in clear, simple English. He makes an abstract argument for the system of title and contract law as a resource allocation mechanism and then illustrates with examples from US policy. In _The Constitution of Liberty_, Hayek makes a more abstract case at greater length in pompous German-influenced English. Both reward attention. Friedman is much more direct. (less)
