I absolutely loved this book and would like to find more like it. However, this pre-textbook genre of nonfiction is new to me. Is there a specific name for the genre of this book and/or are you familiar with more titles similar in presentation to "All Thirteen"? I would love several texts like this to work with my 4th and 5th graders.

I love this genre--in my book list here on Goodreads I call them "True Tales," but another name is narrative nonfiction. Most of the ones I read are for adults, but I have found some great ones for kids as well, including:
Bomb: The Race to Build--And Steal--the World's Most Dangerous Weapon; Vanished: True Tales of Mysterious Disappearances; Pilots in Peril: the Untold Story of U.S. Pilots who Braved "The Hump" in WWII; Chasing Lincoln's Killer; Of Beetles and Angels: A Boys' Remarkable Journey from a Refugee Camp to Harvard; Down a Sunny Dirt Road; Blizzard of Glass: The Halifax Explosion of 1917.

Those are the ones I picked out of my list, but there have been many others. I find most of them either in the biography section, or just browsing the library juvenile nonfiction shelves and looking for titles that seem to tell a story. You can also look up Robert F. Sibert award winners--that's one for nonfiction or informational books for youth, awarded yearly. Of the ones I listed, "Bomb" was probably my favorite.
