Best book of 2020 - this is right up there with Sapiens and Guns, Steel and Germs. An important treatise on early religions backed by great research. The Audible version, read by the author, is excellent. He has an easily listened to voice and the pronunciations of the Greek, Latin and other languages adds a lot. Does anyone know if there is a companion picture book of all the sites and artifacts discussed?

Jordan Munro the hardcover features black-and-white pictures mixed in here and there and then a couple sections of glossy color photos.

OK, this one started with a bang, and as someone who studied classics there is much that is familiar. The problem is, like I say it started with a bang but on going into the final 3rd it seems to be ending with a fart... Is the final 3rd going to pick up? Because I have a limited amount of time on this planet and a shit load of books to get through in that time.

Anyway the final third if you are talking about the last 140 pages from 300-440 it does pick up. Everything ties together in addition to additional new information the author explores. I'd suggest to finish it(less)

Does anyone else find this book to be poorly written and hence difficult to read? I find that in the course of a couple pages (or sometimes even a single paragraph) it jumps from one topic to another constantly and then seems to try to tie it all together with a question along the lines of 'could this actually mean this!?' (of course it does not answer it's own posited questions and continues jumping topics)
