"Stop" before you cross the road, "Look" to your left and then look to your right and then "Look" again to you left and right again to make sure that the road is clear of Traffic. That's what i was taught at school in the 1960's , 1970's and the 1980's. Please note: used in countries that drive on the "Right Hand" side of the road. For other countries it's not known.(less)
