This should maybe go in a discussion board, but I thought this'd be faster. I admit I haven't finished it yet (currently reading), but does it bother anyone else how resistant Aisling was to being Drake's mate? She'll accept that she's a guardian, demon lord, and member of an entire secret world, but she can't fathom being a dragon's mate? I mean she hasn't even given the guy a chance and he's not too bad at all.

She threw herself into this Otherworld, knowing jack about anything, and is at the center of everything. She's a guardian, she's a demon lord, she's Nancy Drew. She happens to stumble upon a dragon- no, not just a dragon, a wyvvrn- who ends up being her mate and then just says 'no, thanks.' It's completly annoying how she forces herself into every single facet of the Otherworld with dumb determination to do everything herself, but then when she's actually wanted, even when there's mutual attraction AND he's a guy she trusts protecting the Tools of ultimate power, there's just no way she could possibly do that. Can't be his mate, noooo maam. It's stupid. (less)
