My concern about the book is whether or not it deals with the extreme misogyny of the Black Panthers. Eldridge Cleaver, one of the original leaders, bragged about being a rapist. Huey Newton ended up being a sex trafficker, and was accused of murdering Kathleen Smith, a 17 year old girl he was trafficking. Does the book ignore this violent misogyny?
