What does Shellenberger know about the loss of Arctic Ice? Has he even head of professor Peter Wadhams the eminent British ice researcher who was allowed to use a British nuclear sub many times to go under the ice and measure how fast it is thinning. The Americans only photograph the Arctic ice from space, which makes it still look extensive, though still smaller. Wadhams has shown how drastically thinner it is.

The blurb suggests he's a environment expert who made a sudden decision to break with the movement in 2019. But his wikipedia article suggests that he's a PR guy without a science background and has always been an ecomodernist, always been against putting limits on human consumption, and wrote the "The Death of Environmentalism" almost 20 years ago. Is there anyone here who can speak on his true place in the movement?

I'm considering this and I'm not totally opposed to nuclear power. But some of the promotional blurbs are troubling. CO2 is steadily rising in the atmosphere and climate feedback loops are a real threat. Is this climate denialism in disguise?
