I haven't read Patricia Cornwell since 2015 because the the mix of anger and bitterness that seeped off the pages combined with melodramatic, clunky, and convoluted writing just got too much for me. I'm hesitant to pick back up a Cornwell book - but see that she's started a new series. Anyone willing to give me an opinion on whether the Captain Chase series is worthwhile? And why you think it's worth the time.

I've read all of PC's books. I hated the 1st Capt. Chase book and now I'm hating the 2nd Capt. Chase book, Spin. UGH! I'm ready to just give the book away, I hate it that much. Should I dredge through it even though I see no character development? Even though I have no sympathy or empathy for any of the characters?

I felt the same way as another reader about the later Scarpetta books - so much bitterness and anger. Tiresome.(less)
