I love this cover... it fits the story character of sugar better... The book cover that I have wasn't liked very much by me... I love the story though... read it over 10 times...

McFadden is an excellent writer...my heart so went out to "Sugar". What a sad existence to live a life mostly filled with pain. My heart goes out to all women who make their living on their backs...there are reason so very compelling for such lifestyles. BTW, the cover of my book was lousy. The one above is more appropriate.(less)

Does the timeline in this book makes sense? Pearl is 60. Her daughter Jude, who died 15 years ago and was third-born of three children, would be about 30 if still living. Sugar is also 30, but somehow Joe (Pearl's husband) impregnated her mother before he and Pearl married?
