I've a 13 year old niece who's a very advanced reader. I'm struggling to find Fantasy books which are suitable as she's very capable but isn't ready for Brent Weeks/Sanderson/Erikson but loves magic and world-building etc. I'm going to read this book myself but not pre-xmas - would it be suitable for her?

if anybody else is looking for adult or YA SFF that works with a crossover audience, i loved Tasha Suri's Empire of Sand, Silvia Moreno-Garcia's Signal to Noise, Novik's Uprooted, and Quan Barry's We Ride Upon Sticks.(less)
