Well, if you know how to bake a cake, is the knowledge useful even if you never use those skills? We need to understand the theoretical perspectives behind ethics or study the implications of our actions. Once we have this understanding, we are able to apply these understandings in a practical way. From here, we need to head back to the theoretical to again analyze the what-ifs and implications of the actions we took. It's a big circle of thinking, doing, and reviewing. :) I hope this helps a little! The text wasn't clear on this at all, but the concepts are used across management/leadership/ethics studies.(less)
