It does tend to be a bi…moreI am 100 pages into this book and I would say it depends upon the level of interest the 12-year-old has in historical writing. It does tend to be a bit dry, but it is certainly descriptive of both Custer's young life and that of Crazy Horse. It compares and contrasts both boys' upbringing, accomplishments, and ambitions. If your young reader can maintain interest for well over 400 pages, it is certainly not too difficult.(less)
