I thought that this book looked good, but didn’t realize until looking closer that it was part of a series. Do you have to read the others in the series or could this book be a stand alone? Would it make more sense to read the series in order first, as far as recognizing characters, etc. goes?

Did Jill finally do it? I am listening to The Summer Deal as an audiobook and based on the description I heard it sounded like she finally created a black male love interest, Deck. Has "Black Lives Matter" finally penetrated into her romances far enough to be one of the love interests? I hope so. I know the author has shown pictures of a diversity of male hotties including black on her blog. About time.
