Is this just a female Jack Reacher rip-off? I mean, it is the exact same setup as the first Jack Reacher book... "Ex-Army criminal investigator Rachel Hatch is a drifter. No home. No commitments. It is written with far less skill than Child's work, but there are crucial character and plot differences which are apparent if one reads both books.

There have been a multitude of armed-forces-based detective novels over the years - a simple Google will prove this - so asserting otherwise is merely ignorance.

It is however, poorly written, poorly edited, the plot *is* transparent, and there are multiple "stock" characters. To say nothing of factual errors.(less)
