I don't see how this could be labeled as the worst journey in the world! What about the journey of the slave on the Transatlantic slave trade, or the trail of tears or the other removals of native americans across their own continent at the hands of greedy settlers??!!

Is this book depressing, or uplifting? Travelling to Antarctica soon, might read it on the plane. It's been a large year, and am looking forward to getting away. Pointers please.
