I like Norwood the guy, but man, it's 170-ish pages of not much at all. He drives to New York and comes back. The hijinks in between that are supposed to be what makes the book funny just...aren't. I didn't enjoy it much. (less)

I love this book: I love how it's episodic and nothing big ever happens, but that there's enough quirky events and interesting characters to give it forward momentum. Can anyone recommend similar novels?
