In answer to your question or anybody else interested (because the other answer was very vague)...
Sexual content is extremely infrequent, but nonetheless present. There are possibly one or two brief scenes that were actually explicit in any way, but they weren't exactly graphic. Sulla, one of the main characters, is a shameless pleasure-seeker who lives and sleeps with his stepmother and mistress as well as having affairs with men and little boys, but McCullough spares us detail on this account, and generally his perverse relations are only implied.
So unless you're very sensitive to that kind of thing it should be fine. Enjoy... It is an amazing, excellent, historical saga!! (less)

Violence is present, but not graphic: non-detailed descriptions of a battle-scenes, suicides, assassinations and murders.
Language: very infrequent use of s***, more frequent use of obscene Latin swear words (you should be fine if you don't look them up in the glossary!)
Sexual content: infrequent but present. Generally brief and nongraphic although extensive reference is made to some of the debaucheries in ancient Rome (but this is not too explicit either)
I loved it and I'm 17 (although I'm pretty sensitive to adult content). Although it's certainly not R-rated I would not recommend it for a young teenager because it is fairly mature - and they might also find it a bit dry! (less)
