Do you think a mature 13-year-old girl can read this book? I read it a long time ago and I don't remember if a kid today (with that they see on the tv) might feel it's too much or not.
Emily There are some moderately explicit sex scenes in it, so I think I would wait a bit.

I think it is, but probably after 15 years of age. The love story is graphic but not obscene. Still graphic though, and in my opinion the book would have been much better without it (without the love story I mean). Teens know adultery exists, but they should be mature enough before they read a book containing such situations. I guess it's up to the personality of the teen reading it and the society he is growing in. For the US I think it would be unacceptable before 18, but for Europe I believe 15 would be fine.(less)
